Preparing seismic data
Structural interpretations made from seismic data are a key input to the models you create. Whether you have imported previously interpreted horizons and faults, or are going to interpret your own, seismic interpretation and QC are often the first steps in the reservoir modeling process.
You use the prepare > Seismic strip when you have seismic data available and you want to work on polyline sets and 2D grids and QC these against the seismic data. If you don't have seismic data and want to work on tri-meshes, or if you have interpretations from multiple surveys, it is recommended that you prepare your data with the prepare > Surfaces strip.
You can perform time-depth conversion and perform seismic interpretation using the seismic editing tools. A wide range of tools is also available to re-sample, clean up and optimize your seismic interpretation data for input to the modeling process as well as quality control, comparison and other tasks during this process.
You can also use the Property Tool (Workspace > Tools) in combination with the Function Tool (Workspace > Tools) to create seismic properties or attributes for the voxel grids.
